About

Engineer by trade, photographer by habit, student by temperament.

I’ve spent most of my career in the parts of software that users never see — the platforms, data pipelines and internal tools that decide whether a product feels fast and trustworthy or slow and brittle. My favourite work looks boring from the outside: a queue that stops losing messages, a deploy that drops from twenty minutes to two, an on-call rotation that finally gets a good night’s sleep.

I believe good engineering is mostly good judgement applied consistently — knowing what to leave out, writing things down, and being honest about trade-offs. I care about legibility: code, systems and interfaces that the next person (often future-me) can actually understand.

Away from the keyboard, photography is how I pay attention. I shoot mostly film — slow, deliberate, expensive enough to make me think before pressing the shutter. Landscapes, quiet streets, the in-between moments. This site’s gallery updates itself straight from my archive, so there’s always something new without me touching a line of code.

If any of that resonates, the projects and writing below say more.
